   Plan and choose materials

   Decide what you're building and from what — laminated board, MDF, solid wood. Estimate your budget and time.

2. 02

   Cut list

   Turn your idea into an exact list of panels: dimensions, quantities, material.

3. 03

   Order from a supplier and a door-front maker

   With your cut list in hand, order board cut to size — and if you want lacquered or acrylic fronts, order those from a front maker.

4. 04

   Pick up your order

   Check the panels as soon as you pick them up: dimensions, quantity, and that nothing's damaged.

5. 05

   Drilling and assembly

   Drill holes for cam locks and dowels, then assemble the carcass.

6. 06

   Hardware

   Hinges, drawer slides, handles. The hinge calculator helps here.

   Fitting and adjustment

   Level the cabinet, adjust the hinges and fronts, even out the gaps.
